MMN Artist-Run Radio: Jessica 6 Get Sensual With Portishead, Al Green (STREAM)
From time to time, MMN asks its favorite artists to create personally curated playlists for our curiosity-satisfying- and audio-streaming pleasure. Themes and styles will vary, but you’ll always know your favorite bands just a little better after listening.
Today’s MMN Artist Radio DJ is: Jessica 6.
Formed while the three of them were members of disco revival act Hercules & Love Affair, Jessica 6 pushing the very movement that brought them together into seductive new territory. Combining disco with the kind of electro best-suited for a dimly lit night club, the Brooklyn trio are lighting up dancefloors across the country just as they’re gearing up for the release of their debut album, See the Light, next month. Before Jessica 6 became the latest staple of your party soundtrack, though, they were kind enough to give MOG an exclusive playlist featuring some of their favorite sensual jams by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bootsy Collins, and many more. Check out the tracks alongside the band’s commentary, and stream the playlist (YouTube links have been provided for any selections not available in our MOG library) after the jump….
